A wide variety of sports teams in the Reno area provide fans with professional, collegiate, and high school prep sports action. There are schedules of sporting events happening all year. Here are your choices, including football, baseball, basketball and soccer, among many other less high profile sporting activities.

Reno Aces baseball schedule team, Greater Nevada Field, NV

Reno Aces Baseball

The Reno Aces are a Minor League Baseball (MiLB) Triple-A team affiliated with the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Aces play in the Pacific Coast League. The Reno Aces' home stadium is Greater Nevada Field in downtown Reno. The season is from April through September. See the Reno Aces schedule for games and times.

UNR Wolf Pack Sports

The Nevada Wolf Pack football team plays for the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). The school is in the Mountain West Conference and plays its home games at Mackay Stadium on campus in Reno. The Wolf Pack game schedule is from September into November. Should the Pack get a bowl game berth, the season gets extended a bit longer.

Wolf Pack men's basketball is the second biggest sport at UNR. Like all college sports, there are good years and bad years. That said, the Wolf Pack basketball team is decent most of the time and occasionally outstanding. The 2017 season was one of the better ones in a few years and past teams have made as far as the top 16 in the NCAA tournament. Home games are played in Lawlor Events Center on the UNR campus. Reno high school prep sports, Nevada, NV

High School Prep Sports

There are 15 high schools in the Washoe County School District and several private high schools in the area. Add in high schools from surrounding regions, including northern California, and you have a lot of teams competing in a wide variety of sports.

Probably the best place to follow high school prep sports is the local daily newspaper, the Reno Gazette-Journal. The paper covers a wide variety of both boy's and girl's sports, including basketball, football, softball, volleyball, wrestling and more. The website is a little heavy on ads and you may need to subscribe to see everything of interest. If you have home delivery, you are also subscribed to the online version. Another good place to follow high school prep sports are the local TV stations and their websites.

Reno 1868 FC Soccer

Reno 1868 FC (Football Club) is a professional soccer team in the United Soccer League, a Division II league under Major League Soccer (MLS) in North America. The team's first season will begin in March, 2017. Games are played at Greater Nevada Field, home to the Reno Aces baseball team. Reno 1868 FC is affiliated with the San Jose Earthquakes of MLS.
