UNR Wolf Pack Sports

The Nevada Wolf Pack football team plays for the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). The school is in the Mountain West Conference and plays its home games at Mackay Stadium on campus in Reno. The Wolf Pack game schedule is from September into November. Should the Pack get a bowl game berth, the season gets extended a bit longer.

Wolf Pack men's basketball is the second biggest sport at UNR. Like all college sports, there are good years and bad years. That said, the Wolf Pack basketball team is decent most of the time and occasionally outstanding. Past teams have made it as far as the top 16 in the NCAA tournament. Home games are played in Lawlor Events Center on the UNR campus. Visit the UNR basketball schedule for games and times information. The season runs from November to March.

Reno high school prep sports, Nevada, NV

High School Prep Sports

There are 15 high schools in the Washoe County School District and several private high schools in the area. Add in high schools from surrounding regions, including northern California, and you have a lot of teams competing in a wide variety of sports.

Probably the best place to follow high school prep sports is the local daily newspaper, the Reno Gazette-Journal. The paper covers a wide variety of both boy's and girl's sports, including basketball, football, softball, volleyball, wrestling and more. The website is a little heavy on ads and you may need to subscribe to see everything of interest. If you have home delivery, you are also subscribed to the online version. Another good place to follow high school prep sports are the local TV stations and their websites.
