Fall Photo Hike at Lockwood Trailhead - Saturday, November 1, 2025, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy a stroll through riparian and upland habitat that supports an excellent variety of bird species. Sagebrush, wild rose and four-wing saltbush mix with Indian rice grass and Great Basin wildrye in one of the Truckee River’s best recreational sites. Sign up online.

UNR Ski Swap - The Avalanche Sale - October 31 - November 2, 2025. The UNR Ski Swap features a huge selection of new and used equipment. "Dayton's Mystic 12: A Nevada History Mystery" from Historic Reno Preservation Society - Sunday, November 9, 2025, 12 noon. Historian Jeff Kintop presents a mystery that begins with an old photograph of 12 men standing in front of the Lyon County Courthouse in Dayton in 1882. At the Downtown Reno Library, 301 S. Center Street.

Reno Veterans Day Parade - Tuesday, November 11, 2025, starting at 11:11 a.m. The Reno Veterans Day Parade marches along Virginia Street through downtown Reno. Come enjoy this rousing parade and support our veterans that have served us over the years.

2025 Polar Express on the V&T Railroad - The Polar Express™ for the 2025 Christmas holiday season will visit the North Pole on select dates from November 14 through December 23. Spellbinders 2025 - November 14 - 16, 2025. The world's largest free International Festival of Magic returns to eight branches of the Washoe County Library, featuring World Champions of Magic from around the globe. Tipsy Turkey Wine Walk - Saturday, November 15, 2025. The Riverwalk Merchants present this fun event every third Saturday of the month. In November, it's themed for Thanksgiving and costumes are encouraged. Register online or visit any of the start locations with $30 and receive your wine glass and hand stamp (with photo ID), then make the rounds sampling wines at numerous businesses in the area from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This is a 21+ event. Special Collections & University Archives: Who We Are, What We Do, and Why You Should Care - Nevada Historical Society presents High Noon with Neal Cobb history series - Thursday, November 20, 2025, 12 noon to 1 p.m. This is an online event. 27th Annual Scheels Turkey Trot - Thursday, November 27, 2025, 8:30 a.m. Sign up with friends or family for the 2-mile walk, non-timed, that circles Sparks Marina. It starts and ends in the Scheels Parking lot, located at 1200 Scheels Drive in Sparks. Register early as the price increases close to event day. Dogs will not be allowed on the course (except for registered and licensed service dogs). A portion of all entry fees will benefit Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB) and Amateur Radio Emergency Services.

Wobble Before You Gobble 10K / 5K / 1 Mile Walk - Thursday, November 27, 2025, 9 a.m. The race event will begin at 9 a.m. at Idlewild Park. Participants will make their way through downtown Reno and the nearby parks before returning to the finish where they will get a finisher's medal upon completion. Reno's Wobble Before You Gobble is the best Thanksgiving family tradition for the whole family. Register online or at the event on race day.

Deck the Halls Holiday Shopping Event at Reno Public Market - November 29 - 30, and the first 3 weekends in December, 2025, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bring your friends and family to enjoy a weekend full of festive fun, local shopping, and holiday cheer. Activities include photos with Santa, holiday decor, lots of food and drink, kids' holiday crafts and activities. Reno Public Market is at the corner of E. Plumb Lane and Virginia Street.

Peanutcracker - The Story in a Nutshell - Sunday, November 23, 2025, 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Peanutcracker is a shorter, 45-minute narrated version of The Nutcracker that is designed for families with younger children to introduce them to the wonderful world of ballet and the traditional holiday ballet, The Nutcracker. The shortened ballet with its glowing Christmas tree, the Rat King's battle scene, Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy and animated narration has proven to be very popular with audiences of every age. "Buttcracker Neverland" from Bruka Theatre - December 5 - 21, 2025, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees December 7, 14, 21, 2025, 2 p.m. What began as a parody of The Nutcracker has evolved into a regional cult classic, offering a different underbelly to the original ballet each year it is performed. Brükaisms abound in this 14th rendition, which is full of fairy magic and gender bending buttcrackers. Not for ballet purists or those with tight slippers. Recommended: 12 years and up.
