Discover Your Parks Walks - Thursday, August 6, 2020. Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is leading free walks in different parks located in Washoe County from April through September, 2020. This first August walk will be at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. Others will be on August 13, 20 and 27. Walks start at 6 p.m.

Hands ON! Second Saturdays - Saturday, August 8, 2020. Come to the Nevada Museum of Art for a day of fun family activities and free admission for all, sponsored by the Estelle J. Kelsey Foundation. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Extend your experience with Hands ON! at Home.

Reno 1868 FC Soccer - Saturday, August 8, 2020. Reno takes on the Tacoma Definace at Greater Nevada Field. At this point, there will be no fans in the stands, but you can listen live on ESPN Radio 94.5. The next home game is on August 15 vs. the Portland Timbers 2.

Science Saturdays at the National Automobile Museum - Saturday, August 8, 2020. Join in on an adventure that is out of this world. Admission is $12 per person for children and adults, which also includes admission to the Museum and free refreshments. For participants age 8 and up. Children 8 to 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The event is from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pre-registration is required approximately two days before the event. Growing NV - A Local Food Week Celebration - Sunday through Saturday, August 9 - 15, 2020. Growing NV is a week-long local food celebration happening around the Reno/Sparks area. All events are free (unless otherwise noted), family-friendly and open to the public. The event features fresh and nourishing Nevada grown fruits and vegetables and the folks who grow, cook, and enjoy eating them. Visit the website for information about locations and times.

Second Thursday Talk at the National Automobile Museum - The History of Ride-sharing - Thursday, August 13, 2020, 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Held in the Museum's Theatre. Enjoy a 30-minute talk, Q&A, refreshments and a unique piece of history. Presented by Museum Docent John Sell.

Nevada Humane Society Duck Race and Festival - Saturday, August 29, 2020, starting at 12 noon. For 2020, this will be a live-streamed event. You can still buy ducks through the Duck Race website as usual. There will still be prizes, including $10,000 or a new car donated by Carson City Toyota.
