March is... March happenings... Free Classes about Gardening in Nevada: The Bartley Ranch Series - Tuesdays, March 3, 10, 17, 24, 2026. Learn from experts about growing a vegetable garden and other plants in northern Nevada. There is a different topic each week. At Bartley Ranch Regional Park in Reno, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Pioneer Center Golden Encore presents Retro Radio Dolls: Hits, Harmony, and High Heels - March 1 and 21, 2026. Hailing from the heart of Reno, the Retro Radio Dolls transport audiences back in time to the golden age of radio. "Hits, Harmony and High Heels" entertains and engages audiences with songs from the 1920s through current hits with three-part harmony vocals and colorful costumes. March 1 at the Spanish Springs Library and March 21 at Northwest Reno Library. Free. Pioneer Center Youth Programs - Free Family Series - Saturday, March 7, 2026, 3 p.m. Boxtales Theatre Company will present Wisdom of Emotions – Life Lessons from Around the World, featuring myths, folktales, and music from different cultures. This 60-minute family-friendly performance is presented with free admission in the Pioneer Center Theater. Seating is first come, first served. The Pioneer Center is at 100 S. Virginia St. in Reno. Kids Craft with Doodle Your Soul - Saturday, March 7, 2026, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Doodle Your Soul is back with their famously awesome and creative Kid's Arts & Crafts Class. Come in to enjoy creating art and take home what you make. This free event is at Reno Public Market, 299 E. Plumb Ln. in Reno. Please RSVP to ensure adequate supplies. Junior Ranger Adventure Day - Sunday, March 8, 2026, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Park Safety - At this event the Rangers will be educating on Park Safety, Park etiquette, and General Rules. Keeping the parks safe and enjoyable is a big part of a Rangers job and they need YOUR help to do it. This free event is open to families and children of all ages but preregistration is required. At Lazy 5 Regional Park, 7100 Pyramid Way in Sparks. North Lake Tahoe SNOWFEST! - through March 8, 2026. SNOWFEST is a ten day winter festival supporting local non profits, public programs, student organizations, and educational scholarships. Just a few of the events include the Tap Haus Block Party, SnowFest Fireworks, Polar Bear Swim, Tahoe City Dog Pull, Milk Jug Curling, SnowFest Street Fair, Wine N Ice Sculpture Competition and lots more. Located in Tahoe City and King's Beach. Daylight Saving Time Begins - Sunday, March 8, 2026. Set your clocks forward at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning. If you don't plan on being awake then, do it before going to bed on Saturday night. Guiseppe Verdi: REQUIEM - Featuring an exceptional guest soloist roster and iconic movements from the thunderous Dies irae to the transcendent Libera me, this program highlights the dramatic power, emotional range, and luminous orchestral writing that has made the Requiem one of the most beloved works in the choral-orchestral canon. Tickets are sold online for each performance.
Come in from the Cold Family Entertainment Series - Saturdays, March 7 and 14, 2026. "Come in from the Cold" is held on Saturday evenings in the Western Heritage Interpretive Center at Bartley Ranch Regional Park in Reno. These family-friendly shows provide welcome relief from the frosty weather during the depths of winter. The 2026 series is in January, February, and March. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with performances starting at 7 p.m. Seating is limited, so arriving early at this popular event is a good idea. Ice Skating at the Grand Sierra Resort - season ends on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Ice skating is also available at the Jennifer M. O'Neal Community Ice Arena is south Reno. Hands ON! Second Saturday at the Nevada Museum of Art - Saturday, March 14, 2026. Come to the Nevada Museum of Art for fun for the whole family, including storytelling, art activities, live performances, and all current exhibits. This month's theme is "Today's Forecast: ART." Admission to the Museum is free for all on Second Saturdays. "Toytopia" at the Wilbur D. May Museum - through April 26, 2026. Both grown-ups and kids will enjoy "Toytopia." It is inspirational for children and adults who can revisit fun times from childhood. This popular exhibit features everything from tried and true classics to modern digital games, with highlights like those listed here, and more. Don't just look at toys, play with them, too. Special group rates are available. The entry fee is $13 for adults, $11 for children 3 to 17 and seniors. Kids under 3 are free. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 12 noon to 4 p.m. The museum located in Reno's Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. Reno Leprechaun Crawl - Saturday, March 14, 2026, 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. The event draws people from all over the country and beyond, making it one of the largest bar crawls in the world. Over 34 participating downtown bars, nightclubs and restaurants, all in walking distance and no cover charges. The Brewery entertainment district is now included. Lots of beer and drink specials and giveaways. The start location is the Silver Baron Ballroom inside the Silver Legacy Resort Casino. Annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry - Saturday, March 14, 2026, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Go up to Virginia City for this popular event. Cooks from around the west fry, smoke or grill these delectable concoctions in a way that will make you forget what you're really eating. Dress to impress in your most festive or outlandish St. Patty's Day garb. The St. Paddy Made Me Do It Saloon Crawl is part of the festivities, along with a costume contest, and St. Patrick's Day Parade starting at 12 noon. 2026 SciVenture Science Fair - Saturday, March 14, 2026, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Coordinated by the University of Nevada, Reno Aerospace & Defense Academy and AHA Projects, the second annual SciVenture Science Fair showcases innovative projects by young talent in Northern Nevada. Admission is free for all during the SciVenture Science Fair. The Discovery is at 490 S. Center Street in Reno. 14th Annual Leprechaun Race - Sunday, March 15, 2026. Race begins at 8:30 a.m. The Leprechaun Race is a family-friendly event perfect for first-time 5K participants, families, and seasoned runners alike blending fun, fitness, and community spirit. This year's race starts and ends at Reno City Plaza, with a portion of the proceeds going to The Discovery Museum in Reno. New for 2026 is the Kid's Leprechaun Dash starting at City Plaza at 9:15 a.m. This is a fun 0.4-mile run designed just for kids ages 10 and under. Online registration is available. "Paw Patrol Live! A Mighty Adventure" at the Pioneer Center - Saturday and Sunday, March 14 - 15, 2026. After Chase, Marshall, Skye and the gang save Adventure City with their Mighty Pup Powers, it’s time for the paw-some-est street party ever. But when supervillain scientist Victoria Vance feels left out of the festivities, she unleashes her latest invention to crash the party and steal the spotlight for herself. First Day of Spring - Spring begins with the Equinox on Friday, March 20, 2026. Washoe County Library Book Sale - March 21 - 29, 2026. Sales are in the book store next door to the Sierra View Library in the Reno Town Mall. This is your chance to get big bargains on books and other media while supporting your Washoe County Library System. Sale hours are every day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Preview day for Friends members is on the Friday before each sale period, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. If you aren't a member, you can join Friends at the door. Washoe County Ranger Walk - Hidden Valley Regional Park - Saturday, March 21, 2026, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Join us for a Ranger led walk on the Highland Loop Trail at Hidden Valley Regional Park. This trail is about 2.3 miles long, and it does involve hills. You'll be rewarded with impressive views of Hidden Valley and the Virginia Range, a diverse native plant community, and possibly a free roaming horse or two. Hidden Valley Regional Park is at 4740 Parkway Drive in Reno. March Madness Wine Walk - Saturday, March 21, 2025, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Riverwalk Merchants present this fun event every third Saturday of the month. Visit any of the participating start locations with $30 and receive your wine glass and hand stamp (with photo ID), then make the rounds sampling wines at numerous businesses in the area. You can also purchase tickets online. This is a 21+ event. Pets and strollers are not advised. For more information, call 775-825-WALK(9255). Washoe County Schools Spring Break - March 23 to April 3, 2026. Check out all of the cool spring break camps and other fun activities happening during this break in the school action. There are lots of choices, so check it out and sign up early for the best selection of activities and camps. Reno Boat & RV Show - Reno Off-Road & Motorsports Expo - March 26 - 29, 2026. This big event is actually five shows for one ticket. All will run simultaneously at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, 4590 S. Virginia Street in Reno. It boasts the latest outdoor gear and accessories, adventure and travel, boats, RV's, camping, off-road and motorsports vehicles, and more. Tickets also include the Home & Garden Show and Reno Pet Show. Admission is only $15 for all five shows, $8 for seniors and free for kids under 12. Check the website for tickets and discount coupons. Thursday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. (RV show), Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Brüka Theatre for Children presented by Pioneer Center Youth Programs - Thursday, March 26, 2026, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. This season, Brüka Theatre for Children presents a new original work The Sporkals League: A Hero's Adventure. Named for the spoon/fork variety utensil in lunchrooms, this kooky group of problem solvers is in a league of their own as they focus their talents on values and creating community. Car Care Day at The Discovery - Saturday, March 28, 2026, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motor on down to The Discovery for a day filled with hands-on automotive themed activities for car enthusiasts of every age. Join experts from NAPA AutoCare Centers to explore the inner workings of automobiles and the systems that make them go, turn and stop. Free admission for everyone all day. The Discovery is at 490 S. Center Street in Reno.
