Meet the Turkeys - Saturday, November 2, 2024, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join Washoe County Parks and Open Spaces to take pictures with the turkeys, meet farm animals, enjoy story time, explore the Discovery Room, and much more at the Nevada Farms and Families area next to the Wilbur D. May Museum in Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. This event is free for the entire family. We welcome the community to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.

"Stories of Reno in World War II" from Historic Reno Preservation Society - Sunday, November 10, 2024, 12 noon. Historian Chuck Weller will relate stories of the Reno Army Air Base and other military presence in the city, a Japanese balloon bomb shot down over Reno, the gift to Admiral William "Bull" Halsey, Jr. of a saddle from the war bond buyers of Washoe County and more. Reno Veterans Day Parade - Monday, November 11, 2024, starting at 11:11 a.m. The Reno Veterans Day Parade marches along Virginia Street through downtown Reno. Come enjoy this rousing parade and support our veterans that have served us over the years.

2024 Polar Express on the V&T Railroad - The Polar Express™ for the 2024 Christmas holiday season will visit the North Pole on select dates from November 15 through December 23. Spellbinders 2024 - November 15 - 17, 2024. The world's largest free International Festival of Magic returns to eight branches of the Washoe County Library, featuring World Champions of Magic from around the globe. November Junior Naturalist Program - Saturday, November 16, 2024, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join us for "Cure Your Curiousity" at Rosewood Nature Study Area. Junior Naturalists will explore citizen science with games and activities to review what we learned this year. The program is free, but you need to register online.

Girls on the Run - Sierras - Saturday, November 16, 2024. The 5K course (3.1 mile) is at Procter R. Hug High School in Sparks. Volunteers will be placed along the course to cheer on the girls and 5K participants. Get registration details and more from the website. (775) 298-0280. NO DOGS.

Tipsy Turkey Wine Walk - Saturday, November 16, 2024. The Riverwalk Merchants present this fun event every third Saturday of the month. In November, it's themed for Thanksgiving and costumes are encouraged. Register online or visit any of the start locations with $30 and receive your wine glass and hand stamp (with photo ID), then make the rounds sampling wines at numerous businesses in the area from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This is a 21+ event. The History and Legends of the Brotherhood of E Clampus Vitus - Nevada Historical Society presents High Noon with Neal Cobb history series - Thursday, November 21, 2024, 12 noon to 1 p.m. This is an online event. Our wise and venerated patron, St. Vitus devoted 35 years of study and contemplation seeking the fundamental truths of our mystic Order. He formed a design of writing 83 volumes pertaining to the subject, but even the most learned scholars agree, he never got past these first three words. Credo Quia Absurdium. Sky Tavern Ski Swap - Friday and Saturday, November 22 - 23, 2024. The swap will be at a new location, 3000 Airway Dr., Suite 130 in Reno. New and used winter gear will be for sale at great prices - skis, boards, boots and clothes. Individual sellers can bring in gear to sell. The swap will be open to the public from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. All sales benefit community efforts to get kids outside and on the slopes.

26th Annual Scheels Turkey Trot - Thursday, November 28, 2024, 8:30 a.m. Sign up with friends or family for the 10k, 2-mile run, and 2-mile walk that starts and ends in the Scheels Parking lot, located at 1200 Scheels Drive in Sparks. Register early as the price increases close to event day. Dogs will not be allowed on the course (except for registered and licensed service dogs). A portion of all entry fees will benefit Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB) and Amateur Radio Emergency Services.

Wobble Before You Gobble 10K / 5K / 1 Mile Walk - Thursday, November 28, 2024, 9 a.m. The race event will begin at 9 a.m. on Arlington Street next to Wingfield Park. Participants will make their way through downtown Reno and the nearby parks before returning to the finish where they will get a finisher's medal upon completion. Reno's Wobble Before You Gobble is the best Thanksgiving family tradition for the whole family. Register online or at the event on race day.

Reno Christmas Tree Lighting Festival - Friday and Saturday, November 29 - 30, 2024. Friday 7 p.m., Saturday 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Holiday Lights Festival will feature holiday shopping, live music, food trucks, breweries, and warm spirits alongside photos with Santa and an enchanting Christmas train ride at City Plaza. The event is free and open to the public and media. Free parking is available in the City Hall parking garage located at University Way and E. First Street. City Plaza is between City Hall and the Truckee River.

Deck the Halls Holiday Shopping Event at Reno Public Market - November 29 - December 22, 2024. Fridays 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Join us as we transform the market into a festive holiday destination, where you can experience the magic of the holidays, shop for unique local gifts, and create unforgettable memories with your loved ones. Peanutcracker - The Story in a Nutshell - Sunday, December 1, 2024, 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Peanutcracker is a shorter, 45-minute narrated version of The Nutcracker that is designed for families with younger children to introduce them to the wonderful world of ballet and the traditional holiday ballet, The Nutcracker. The shortened ballet with its glowing Christmas tree, the Rat King's battle scene, Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy and animated narration has proven to be very popular with audiences of every age. "Spirit of the Season" from the Reno Philharmonic - December 6 - 8, 2024. The dazzle of circus arts meets the excitement of Spirit of the Season in this special performance! "Little Miss Buttcracker" from Bruka Theatre - December 6, 7, 11 - 14, 18 - 21, 2024, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees December 8, 15, 2024, 2 p.m. This parody of The Nutcracker ballet is a cross between Little Miss Sunshine and Dance Moms. The show has evolved into a regional cult classic, offering a different underbelly to the original ballet each year it is performed. Not for ballet purists or those with tight slippers. Jurassic Quest - Friday through Sunday, December 6 - 8, 2024.
