Free Fall Photo Hikes - Saturday, November 4, 2023, 2 p.m. Join Washoe County park rangers to explore some of the Reno area's most scenic hiking trails. This hike is on the Ranch Loop Trail at Bartley Ranch Regional Park in Reno.

Meet the Turkeys - Sunday, November 5, 2023, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join KTMB and Washoe County Parks and Open Spaces to take pictures with the turkeys, meet farm animals, enjoy story time, explore the Discovery Room, and much more at the Nevada Farms and Families area next to the Wilbur D. May Museum in Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. This event is free for the entire family. We welcome the community to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.

Reno Veterans Day Parade - Saturday, November 11, 2023, starting at 11:11 a.m. The Reno Veterans Day Parade marches along Virginia Street through downtown Reno. Come enjoy this rousing parade and support our veterans that have served us over the years.

"It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" from Reno Little Theater - November 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 25, 30, Dec. 1, 2, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. and November 12, 19, 26, Dec. 3, 10, 17, 2023 at 2 p.m. The play is a twist on the classic holiday movie. Set in a radio studio in the 1940s, we meet an actor who plays: George Bailey, a man who's always wanted to leave his small town for bigger and better things. But you know the story - when a financial crisis hits and he contemplates suicide, an angel shows him what the world would be like without him. Reno Little Theater is at 147 E. Pueblo Street. Hands ON! Second Saturdays - Saturday, November 11, 2023. Come to the Nevada Museum of Art for a day of fun family activities and free admission for all. Participate in hands-on art projects, storytelling, live music, tours and more. The theme this month is "A Journey Through Mixed Media." Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Holiday Family Arts Festival at Arts for All Nevada - Saturday, November 11, 2023, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Arts for All Nevada is presenting this free event with art stations for kids, ornament making, a free book for each child, visits with Santa, treats to purchase and more. "The History of Picon Punch" from Historic Reno Preservation Society - Sunday, November 12, 2023, 12 noon. The Picon Punch is a popular adult beverage in northern Nevada bars and Basque restaurants. Find out about its main ingredient and the building in which it was first served in Nevada. Trace the "Nevada Drink's" main ingredient from North Africa, where it was used as an anti-malarial, to downtown Reno, and across the state. Integral now to the Basque Culture, it wasn't always so. This program dispels some incorrect information and brings new information to the fore. Presented by Michael Fischer. At the Downtown Reno Library, 301 S. Center Street.

2023 Polar Express on the V&T Railroad - The Polar Express™ for the 2023 Christmas holiday season will visit the North Pole on select dates from November 17 through December 23. Donor Network West Spare a Life Bowling Event - Thursday, November 16, 2023, 5:30 p.m. This event is hosted at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno. The event will bring donor families, transplant recipients and those waiting for a life-saving transplant together to raise awareness about organ, eye and tissue donation for transplantation. Some Stories of Reno in World War II - Nevada Historical Society presents High Noon with Neal Cobb history series - Thursday, November 16, 2023, 12 noon to 1 p.m. This is an online event. Speaker Chuck Weller will relate stories of the Reno Army Air Base and other military presence in the city, a Japanese balloon bomb shot down over Reno, the gift to Admiral Halsey of a saddle from the war bond buyers of Washoe County, and more. Presenter Chuck Weller served three elected terms as a District Court Judge in Reno from 2005 through 2021 and continues to serve as a senior judge..

November Junior Naturalist Program - Saturday, November 18, 2023, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join us for "Backcountry Basics" at Idlewild Park. Junior Naturalists will dive into some fun winter activities and survivalist challenges. The program is free, but you need to register online.

Girls on the Run - Sierras - Saturday, November 18, 2023. The 5K course (3.1 mile) is at Reno High School. Volunteers will be placed along the course to cheer on the girls and 5K participants. Get registration details and more from the website. (775) 298-0280. NO DOGS.

Sky Tavern Ski Swap - Friday and Saturday, November 17 - 18, 2023. The swap will be at the former Sports Authority store, 4813 Kietzke Lane in Reno. New and used winter gear will be for sale at great prices - skis, boards, boots and clothes. Individual sellers can bring in gear to sell. The swap will be open to the public from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. All sales benefit community efforts to get kids outside and on the slopes.

Jurassic Quest - Friday through Sunday, November 17 - 19, 2023. There’s no better place to make pter-iffic memories playing with adorable baby Dinos, excavating fossils, or even training a raptor while surrounded by behemoths like sky-scraping Spinosaurus and, the King himself, Tyrannosaurus rex. Jurassic Quest is the world's largest, most popular Dino event with unique and exciting experiences for the whole family. Tickets are available online. Tipsy Turkey Wine Walk - Saturday, November 18, 2023. The Riverwalk Merchants present this fun event every third Saturday of the month. In November, it's themed for Thanksgiving and costumes are encouraged. Visit any of the start locations with $30 and receive your wine glass and hand stamp (with photo ID), then make the rounds sampling wines at numerous businesses in the area from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This is a 21+ event. Holiday Bazaar at Idlewild Park - Sunday, November 19, 2023, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy our most festive market of the year. We expand to include over 150 local artisans, farmers, bakers, and culinary creatives. Find one-of-a-kind gifts from local makers and excellent locally grown/raised ingredients for your holiday meals. We offer free gift-making stations for all ages, low-cost professional family portraits, photos with Santa, a pie baking contest, a knitting contest, and special performances throughout the day. Pie it Forward Bake Sale - Sunday, November 19, 2023, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Satisfy your sweet tooth and warm your heart at the Peppermill's annual Pie it Forward Bake Sale. For just $7 each, you can grab a delicious pumpkin pie (or two, or three) to elevate your Thanksgiving feast. Even sweeter, the Peppermill is donating all proceeds from the Pie It Forward Bake Sale to The Discovery Museum in Reno. Featuring the hit songs "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas," The Grinch discovers there's more to Christmas than he bargained for in this heart-warming holiday classic. 25th Annual Scheels Turkey Trot - Thursday, November 23, 2023, 8:30 a.m. Sign up with friends or family for the 10k, 2-mile run, and 2-mile walk that starts and ends in the Scheels Parking lot, located at 1200 Scheels Drive in Sparks. Registration ends November 18. Dogs will not be allowed on the course (except for registered and licensed service dogs). A portion of all entry fees will benefit Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB).

Thanksgiving Day Weekend - Thursday, November 23, 2023. There are lots of things to do on Thanksgiving Day and throughout the Thanksgiving weekend.

Dining Out on Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, November 23, 2023. Reno area hotel/casinos and some restaurants put on big spreads for Thanksgiving dinner. Look these over if eating out sounds better than cooking all day and then cleaning up.

Holiday Lights Festival - Friday and Saturday, November 24 - 25, 2023. Friday 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Come enjoy the City of Reno's Christmas Tree Lighting. Shop locally made holiday gifts, relax to the sounds of live music, grab a bite at the food truck plaza and of course enjoy the lights. There's something for everyone in the family at the Holiday Lights Festival. Festivities are free to the public. Downtown Reno at City Plaza, between City Hall and the Truckee River.

Peanutcracker - The Story in a Nutshell - Sunday, December 3, 2023, 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Peanutcracker is a shorter, 45-minute narrated version of The Nutcracker that is designed for families with younger children to introduce them to the wonderful world of ballet and the traditional holiday ballet, The Nutcracker. The shortened ballet with its glowing Christmas tree, the Rat King's battle scene, Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy and animated narration has proven to be very popular with audiences of every age.
