Artown Closing Night - Clarence Bekker and The C-Bees - Thursday, July 31, 2025. Clarence Bekker has the gift of touching the soul of anyone who listens to him. The free show will be at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Galena Campfire Programs - Astronomical Society of Nevada - Friday, August 1, 2025, 8 p.m. Remember the fun had around the campfire as a kid? The Galena Campfire Programs is all about sharing that experience with the family. A different presenter is featured each week, including a variety of cultural music experiences, plus fun educational programs and marshmallow roasting. Blankets, low-back chairs, bug spray and flashlights are recommended. The programs are free, though donations are welcomed to support the program. Treats to enjoy around the campfire at 7:30 p.m. will be available. Every Friday through August 2, 2024. At Eagle Meadow, Galena Creek Regional Park, North Entrance, 18250 Mt. Rose Hwy., Reno. Hot August Nights Kickoff in Virginia City - Friday and Saturday, August 1 - 2, 2025. Celebrate Hot August Nights in this historic mining town just outside of Reno with show-n-shine, cruising events, live entertainment, poker walk fun and more. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Hot August Nights in Reno and Sparks - Friday through Sunday, August 1 - 10, 2025. There is so much happening I couldn't even begin to list it, so refer to the Hot August Nights event schedule to see what is going on when and where. The whole Hot August Nights website is excellent and can probably answer just about all of your questions. Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series at the Brewery Arts Center - Saturday, August 2, 2025, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Featuring Wreckless Strangers. These are all free outdoor shows. The public is invited to bring their own picnics, blankets and lawn chairs to the concerts, which will have an open setting. There will be food trucks, drink vendors and kid's activities at every concert. The Levitt AMP concert series is located at 449 West King Street at the corner of King and Minnesota Streets in Carson City. Library Book Sale - August 2 - 10, 2025. Library book sales are in the mall space next door to the Sierra View Library in the Reno Town Mall. Preview day for Friends of Washoe County Library members is on the Friday before each sale period, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. If you aren't a member, you can join Friends at the door. The sale is open to all every day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Revolution: The Music of The Beatles - A Symphonic Experience - Sunday, August 3, 2025, 4 p.m. This new symphonic tribute with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and star vocalists drives us through decades of The Beatles on a musical journey. Tickets available online. At the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, 100 S. Virginia St. in Reno. Harmony on the River - Tuesdays, August 5, 12, 19, 25, 2025. Food trucks at 6 p.m., music at 7 p.m. This free community event is set to enchant you in the Reno Riverwalk District. Join us in West Street Plaza, next to Wingfield Park. Immerse yourself in live music by the talented Reno Philharmonic. Lawn chairs recommended. Lazy 5 Summer Music Series - Wednesday, August 6, 2025, 6:30 p.m. This series of free concerts includes food trucks available during each show. Bring blankets and low-back chairs to get comfortable on the lawn. The show this evening features Escalade. The final show of the 2025 series is on August 13, 2025. "The Producers" at Bartley Ranch Regional Park - August 8 - 9, 14 - 17, 22 - 23, 2025. All shows start at 7:30 p.m. The in-your-face humor includes high-kicking stormtroopers, a flock of pigeons, hand puppets, and little old ladies dancing with walkers.Beware: this show is not for the weak of heart, (or for youth under 16; discretion advised). Tickets are available online. 2025 Back to School Vaccination Events - Saturday, August 9 and 16, 2025. On these dates and more, Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH) and Community Health Alliance (CHA) are hosting a number of Back To School Vaccination events. Insurance is not required. The immunizations are required for students to attend Washoe County schools. The vaccines will be available at NNPH, 1001 E. 9th St., Building B, and various other locations. For more information call 775-328-2003. Hands ON! Second Saturdays - Saturday, August 9, 2025. Come to the Nevada Museum of Art for a day of fun family activities and free admission for all, sponsored by the Estelle J. Kelsey Foundation. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 160 West Liberty in Reno. Classic Tahoe Festival - through August 10, 2025. Each summer, Classical Tahoe brings together America's leading classical musicians for a three-week festival of orchestra concerts on the campus of Sierra Nevada University in Incline Village, Nev. Individual and season tickets are available online. Reno Aces Baseball - August 12 - 17, 2025. The Aces take on the El Paso Chihuahuas for this six game homestand. On August 26 - 31, it's home again for six games against the Sacramento River Cats. Dog Days of Summer Dance Festival - Friday through Sunday, August 15 - 17, 2025. The Pioneer Center in downtown Reno invites you to this free, 3-night event. The three-night performance event features a variety of local dance companies creating a different program each night. Come early, bring your own chairs, enjoy a meal from a local food truck vendors with your family and friends, and then prepare to be dazzled and entertained by exceptional local dance talent. Outside at the Pioneer Center's E.L. Cord Plaza. The plaza opens nightly at 6 p.m. for a 7:30 p.m. performance. This event spotlights the lifesaving work that SPCA of Northern Nevada provides our community. Help raise donations for this local nonprofit organization. You won't want to miss our nightly Pup Parade Fashion Show, but leave your own dogs at home. Reno Wine Walk - Saturday, August 16, 2025, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Riverwalk Merchants present this fun event every third Saturday of the month. Visit any of the participating merchants with $30 and receive your wine glass and hand stamp (with photo ID), then make the rounds sampling wines at numerous businesses in the area. This is a 21+ event. Pets and strollers are not advised. For more information, call 775-825-WALK(9255). Valhalla Renaissance Faire - Saturday and Sunday, August 16 - 17, and 23 - 24, 202. Prepare to step back in time and immerse yourself in a world of chivalry, enchantment, and merriment. At the Tahoe Valley Campground in South Lake Tahoe, CA. No dogs - only trained service animals allowed. Tickets are only available online. Raise the River - Thursday, August 21, 2025, 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. You are invited to the annual Raise the River fundraising event for Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB). It will be at the National Automobile Museum patio along the banks of the Truckee River. Enjoy a mix-and-mingle cocktail reception with libations and unique sensory experiences with our sponsors. A delectable dinner will be served family-style, with sweet treats from Grand Sierra Resort. This is a 21+ event. Tickets and tables are available online. 39th Annual Bowers Bluegrass Festival - Friday through Sunday, August 22 - 24, 2025. Festival includes Friday, Saturday and Sunday shows at Bowers Mansion Main Stage. Camping available at nearby Washoe Lake State Park. Jamming is allowed 24 hours at Washoe Lake. Tickets are available online. Bowers Mansion is at 4005 Bowers Mansion Road in Washoe Valley. Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival - through August 25, 2025. Come to Sand Harbor at Lake Tahoe to enjoy Shakespeare performances and other entertainment. These shows are held in what's been called America's most beautiful venue. Tahoe Brewfest - Saturday, August 23, 2025, 12 noon to 5 p.m. Tahoe Brewfest brings together the best craft brews from California and around the country. Paired with unbeatable mountain views, music, arts and mouth watering brew bites. It's a brew-lovers paradise. Located along Ski Run Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Tickets available online. 54th Running of the Journal Jog 8K - Sunday, August 24, 2025. Reno's oldest footrace is a family friendly event and a great challenge to all levels of runners and walkers. The Running Stroller event allows a parent can run with their stroller and try to place in the top 3. All the rest will enter in the Run/Walk/Walking stroller event. Starts at 7:25 a.m. at Reno High School. There are a number of perks for racers and awards for the top finishers. No pets. You can register online. Burning Man 2025 - Burning Man happens at Black Rock City and is playing 5 from August 24 through September 1, 2025. The 2025 art theme is "Tomorrow Today." Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook Off - August 27 to September 1, 2025. 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday. The Nugget Rib Cook-Off is really a cooking competition between the professional barbeque teams that will also be serving ribs and fixins to the public during the event. There are other things to see and do for all ages, including free entertainment, Crafter's Crossing, a big kids' area with rides and activities, and a Beer Garden. At Victorian Square in Sparks. No dogs. Food Truck Friday - Friday, August 29, 2025, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is the last 2025 date for Food Truck Friday, Reno's biggest food truck gathering. Come to Idlewild Park to sample a huge variety of food from around 50 food trucks. Nevada Wolf Pack Football - Saturday, August 30, 2025. The Wolf Pack opens its 2025 season with an away game vs. the Penn State Nittany Lions. The next weekend (September 6, 2025) features a home game vs. the Sacramento State Hornets at Mackay Stadium in Reno.
