Sunday, May 12, 2024. Bring Mom to the Nevada Museum of Art on her day to enjoy the Sunday Brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Need a gift for Mom? The Museum Store is open for both online and in-person shopping. Museum members save 10%.

Sunday, May 12, 2024, 12 noon to 5 p.m. The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum will be open on Mother's Day. Mom might enjoy exploring this exciting place with the kids. There's always plenty of entertaining and educational things to do for both adults and children.

Sunday, May 12, 2024, 1:05 p.m. Bring Mom out to Greater Nevada Field for a well-earned relaxing day in the sun. Arrive early and receive a flower exclusively for moms. It's Family Sunday with special promotions. The game is vs. the Tacoma Rainiers.

Saturday and Sunday, May 11 - 12, 2024. The McKeen motor car will be offering rides during Mother's Day weekend. Adult tickets are $8 for the McKeen, $4 for kids 4 to 11. First motor car departs at 10 a.m. and the last ride is at 2 p.m. This is also Mark Twain Days and there will be s surprise gift for moms. The Museum is located at 2180 S. Sunday, May 12, 2024, starting at 7 a.m. Moms on the Run is a non-profit which raises money to help northern Nevada women with cancer. The event features a 5K walk 'n talk, 5K run and 1/4 mile kidlet race. Visit the website for more details and to register online. This event will be at the new Hug High School, 3530 Sullivan Lane in Sparks. NO DOGS.

Sunday, May 12, 2024, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Boutique is brought to you by Riverside Farmers Market. It will be at 2055 Idlewild Dr., Idlewild Park in Reno. This fun day out with Mom will feature 100+ local artists and artisans, kid's play village, free yoga classes, food trucks, family photos, live music and lots more. Just about every Mom likes movies. You might treat her to a fancy show at the IMAX theater in Sparks or take her to any of numerous theaters throughout the area.. For an out-of-this-world experience, take her to the Fleischmann Planetarium.

Saturday and Sunday, May 11 - 12, 2024. The Virginia and Truckee Railroad will come alive on Mother's Day weekend with a trip back to the Wild West. These special edition train round-trip rides from Carson City to Virginia City include coffee, mimosas, pastries and a special gift for Mom, wild West history, storytelling, shopping and dining in Virginia City, and flowers for Mom. Tickets are $65 for adults, $45 for children ages 2 to 15 and free for kids 2 and under when sitting on an adult's lap. Also available are VIP tables and private rooms for up to 15 people. Trains depart the Eastgate Depot for Virginia City at 10 a.m. and the return trip departs at 3 p.m. No dogs allowed except service dogs.

Saturday and Sunday, May 11 - 12, 2024. Treat Mom to a cruise aboard the MS Dixie II and enjoy spectacular views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains. The cruise is from 12 noon to 2 p.m. It sails from Zephyr Cove, on the Nevada side a few miles from South Lake Tahoe.
