The Summit is the first new major shopping center in the Reno/Sparks/Lake Tahoe area in many years. It is an open shopping area, billed as a "lifestyle" center. The Summit is located in growing and upscale south Reno, at the corner of S. Virginia St. and Mt. Rose Highway. With much fanfare, including attendance by Reno Mayor Bob Cashell, The Summit officially opened on Wednesday, March 15, 2006. The Summit parking lots were approaching full before noon. Google AdWords provides much of the advertising on NewToReno.com. AdWords allows businesses to economically advertise on any number of sites, including this one. Ad campaigns can be set up to target keywords, geographical location of the visitor, and/or individual web sites. They handle the most common ad sizes and allow text, image, and video.
