Truckee River Raging* 2005 ends just missing a flooded downtown Reno (» Page 1 » Page 2 » Page 3) Soggy Virginia St., downtown Reno
Heavy rain pounded the Sierra and Reno for days, finally coming to a climax with the Truckee River nearly overflowing into downtown Reno on New Years Eve day (12/31/05). There was spot flooding around Reno and Sparks, but nothing like the inundation that turned the Truckee Meadows into a lake in '97. Looks like bad storms at New Years are becoming a tradition; this year a deluge, last winter a record-breaking blizzard.
